Superchips MAX MicroTuner
Give your GM, Ford, Dodge, or other vehicle the
competitive edge. The MAX MicroTuner specifically
tunes your vehicle’s onboard computer–without
removing it! The MAX MicroTuner saves your stock
program, identifies it, then uploads the correct
Superchips performance program for your specific
vehicle. The result? Quicker acceleration, firmer
shifting, better mileage and improved towing.
More horsepower and more torque, too–from
10% to 30%. No tools are required for installation.
After your vehicle is reprogrammed, just unplug
the MAX MicroTuner from the data port and go.
Make that, REALLY GO! |
Features:
• Product loads a tuning
profile that advances timing, optimizes air/fuel ratio,
remaps transmission shift points and increases top
speed of the speed limiter.
• Power increase in lower RPMs yields better
throttle response and helps maintain speeds on inclines.
• Wider power band will be noticeable in city
driving, where speeds constantly change
• Mid to upper power increase extremely useful
on highway when passing slower vehicles.
• Delivers typical fuel mileage increases of
2-4 miles per gallon
• Specifically programmed for GM, Ford and Dodge
vehicles
• Plugs into data cable in vehicle’s diagnostic
port under the dash
• Easy-to-follow prompts on LCD display
• No tools needed for installation or use

About Superchips Inc.
Founded in England in 1983, Superchips, Inc. was one of
the first companies specializing in the “tuning”
of computer-controlled vehicles for more power. Vehicles programmed
by Superchips have gone on to win in a variety of racing series
throughout the World.
Since beginning our U.S. operations in 1992, we've continued
to excel in racing, along with providing more power for street
driven vehicles. Our current performance tuning comes from
years of experience in tuning computer-controlled cars, trucks
and SUVs, unleashing the power potential hidden under your
hood...to deliver MORE POWER FOR TOW & GO!
Enter the Superchips MAX MicroTuner:
• Tuned every 200 rpm
• Dyno tested and street proven
•
Application specific tuned products
What does this all mean?
When we program a Superchips MAX MicroTuner, Vin specific
Micro Tuner, eprom or Ford Superchip for your vehicle, we
don't just make a few universal changes at full throttle.
Our engineers make modifications throughout the entire power
band, from part throttle through wide open throttle. These
changes are made specific to your particular vehicle's original
factory computer program.
By tuning every 200 RPM, you get more power for everyday
driving with increased power in the lower RPM range where
you need it. As shown below on the dyno graph, the torque
gain at peak is nice, but the increased torque we found at
the lower rpm range is outstanding and it's right where you
really feel it: on the street in everyday driving!
On the top end, notice that while the horsepower starts falling
off just past 4,000 RPM, the Superchips program holds a higher
level all the way to redline.
This means more torque on the bottom end to get you moving
and more horsepower on the top end to keep the motor pulling
strong all the way to redline.
The difference between "Peak"
HP gains, and "Max" HP gains.
Traditionally, manufacturers of high-performance aftermarket
parts for cars and/or trucks would advertise power gains seen
at the vehicle's 'peak' HP level; this is where the vehicle
makes its highest HP (and almost always at a high-RPM). For
the most part, most consumers do not drive at this RPM level
or throttle position frequently, if at all.
Since the majority of Superchips' customers are purchasing
Superchips products for driving on the street & towing
instead of at the race track, we decided that it was necessary
to give our customers a more representative indication of
what to expect with our product.
This is why we advertise both the Max (maximum) HP gain,
almost always achieved at a lower RPM than Peak, as well as
the Peak HP gain which is at the vehicles highest HP rating.
Most vehicles have a horsepower 'peak' over 5000 RPM whereas
most of the maximum HP gains that are seen with our products
are between 2000-4500 RPM.
Simply: Max is the 'most' or widest range between stock and
Superchips. Peak is the gain at the vehicle's highest rating.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

void my warranty?

• Why
won't the chip or Micro Tuner work on my vehicle? It's the

Superchips carry?
• Can I have my Superchip
reprogrammed for modifications that I make in the future?
• Can I stack a Superchips performance
product on top of another performance enhancing chip or programmer?
Q: Will it
void my warranty?
A: No. It is illegal for a dealership
to void your warranty based solely on the fact that you have
installed an aftermarket product. For information regarding
denial of warranty coverage, go to: http://www.semasan.com.
Q: What
is the difference between "Peak" HP gains, and "Max"
HP gains.
A: Peak HP gains are measured at the
RPM level that the stock motor made it's highest horsepower.
Max HP gains are measured at the RPM level with the greatest
gain over stock.
Simply: Max is the 'most' or widest range
between stock and Superchips. Peak is the gain at the vehicle's
highest rating.
Q: Will
it damage my transmission?
A: No. In some cases, transmission operation
is improved.
Q: Why won't
the chip or Micro Tuner work on my vehicle? It's the same
motor.
A: While the motor may be the same, the
programming of the computer can and usually does change from
one model vehicle to another and from one year to the next.
If the label on the Micro Tuner states 96-03, it won't work
on an 04 model.
Q: How do I
find a dealer in my area?
A: Go to our Find a Dealer tab on our
Home page, scroll down and enter your area code and first
3 digits of your local exchange
or call 800-898-2447 for the nearest Superchips dealer.
Q Does your
product require a higher grade fuel than 87 octane?
A: While some Superchips products give
you the choice of running 87 or 91-93 octane fuel, only the
use of 91- 93 octane fuel in gas powered vehicles will increase
the Horsepower and Torque output.
Q: Will this
improve my gas mileage?
A: While we design our programs specifically
for more performance, in some cases the vehicle may get better
fuel mileage.
Q: How
difficult is this to install?
A: Most customers with minimal mechanical
skills can install our products.
Q: Can my vehicle
be returned back to stock?
A: Yes, by either removing the chip or
program setting.
Q: Why
does my Micro Tuner not come on when I plug it into the diagnostic
port under the dash?
A: In most cases, this is caused by a
blown fuse powering the diagnostic port. On most Fords and
GM vehicles, this same fuse powers the Cigarette Lighter.
On Dodge trucks, it's the same fuse powering the radio on
some, but not all.
Q: Do you
have all throttle point tuning?
A: Yes, we tune at all throttle positions,
from idle to full.
Q: Will
it remove the speed limiter?
A: Yes. In most cases, but not all, this
is available.
Q:
What type of warranty does Superchips carry?
A: All of our products come with a 30-day
money back guarantee as well as a limited lifetime warranty
on most.
Q: Can I
have my Superchip reprogrammed for modifications that I make
in the future?
A: Aftermarket headers, mass air meters,
throttle bodies, fuel injectors, cams and bored & stroked
motors all require custom programming of the computer in order
to produce the big horsepower numbers you're expecting. Cold
Air Intake filter kits and Cat-Back exhaust typically do not
require custom programming and will work well with our basic
performance programming. Superchips can custom program your
vehicle to take advantage of the modifications you have. We
can also provide custom programming for vehicles running on
Nitrous! This is a special order situation.
Q: Can I stack
a Superchips performance product on top of another performance
enhancing chip or programmer?
A: NO! Superchips does not recommend
the stacking of our product on top of any other performance
enhancing chip, module or programmer. Superchips will not
warrant or be liable for any damage caused by the stacking
of our Superchips product on top of another performance enhancing
chip or programmer.
